Research on Pharmacist-led Science Communication for Drug Package Insert Reform
To improve patient healthcare experience and explore drug package insert reform, the research team investigated the problems existing in traditional drug package inserts. Based on the findings, the team integrated pharmacy science popularization resources to construct a new visualized drug package insert and service model. Using a fission communication model to promote science popularization videos and a self-developed “One Drug One QR Code” system, drug science popularization videos are presented as QR codes on prescription slips. Patients can quickly access concise, easy-to-understand visualized drug package inserts with real-person demonstrations by simply scanning the code, obtaining personalized pharmaceutical services.
This model has transformed over 150 drug package inserts, benefiting more than 850,000 people, and has been widely reported by authoritative media including Xuexi Qiangguo, earning national and municipal industry case awards. The research demonstrates that this low-cost, easily replicable approach positively promotes drug package insert reform, and visualized instructions with innovative pharmaceutical service models enable patients to “understand clearly and use safely” during medication.
